Already a nine-time convicted felon, Joshua Jones faces 12 more felony charges for four shootings

A one-man crime spree? Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced additional felony counts today against Joshua Anthony Jones related to an alleged crime spree in south Minneapolis on Wednesday, September 18.

Her press release on the latest charges includes a handy timeline to sort out the events of the day. Jones, aged 36, faces an additional 2nd-degree murder charge and additional attempted murder and gun charges.

From the events on September 18, Jones now faces two 2nd degree murder charges for the shooting deaths of Roland Littleowl and Robert Brown. Three attempted murder charges and three gun charges bring the total number of felonies charged to eight (8). To recap: two killed, two wounded and one missed target in three separate shooting incidents that day.

As I detailed in this post, Jones also faces four (4) additional felony charges over three unrelated cases going back more than a year. One of those cases involved a shooting.

As I also documented in the previous post, Jones has been convicted on nine (9) previous felony charges over the years.

And yet, here we are. Jones’ next court appearance is scheduled for October 24.
