Another guilty plea coming in the Feeding Our Future bribery case

Late last week, the always alert Lou Raguse of KARE-11 TV noticed a new filing in Federal court. Ladan Ali, the alleged bagwoman in the Feeding Our Future bribery case, has filed to change her plea to guilty.

She would become the second guilty plea filed in the bribery case.

The hearing on her guilty plea is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, in Federal Court in downtown Minneapolis.

Fox 9 TV also post a tweet, linking to an earlier story. Ali is the one accused of delivering the bag of $120,000 in cash to the home of Juror #52 in the first Feeding Our Future courtroom trial.

I’ve updated the Bribery tracker accordingly,

As noted above, Ali has not been charged in the broader Feeding Our Future fraud case. However, I documented in this previous piece that Ali was formerly employed by another free-food charity linked to the scandal, but never charged with any wrongdoing.

Last year, Ali was convicted of fraud in a Scott County case completely unrelated to Feeding Our Future.

Next up, though, is the expected guilty plea of Abdullahe Nur Jesow, Defendant No. 28 in the broader fraud case. That is scheduled to occur Tuesday morning, Aug. 20, in Federal court in Minneapolis. If all goes according to plan, Jesow will become guilty plea No. 19.
