Coming to a town near you: False Promises July tour
Center of the American Experiment announced a summer tour of events based on exclusive polling showing young people in Minnesota dissatisfied with the direction of the state and pessimistic about their financial future. The tour is titled False Promises: How “progressive” policies betray Minnesota’s youth, and begins Wednesday, July 10 in Mankato and continues throughout the month, stopping in 16 different cities.
According to the latest Thinking Minnesota poll, a shocking 90% of young people in Minnesota expect their generation to be worse off economically than their parents. Housing, childcare, energy, health insurance, taxes all seem out of reach for the next generation. American Experiment policy fellows will lead a discussion of the laws and policies enacted by progressives in St. Paul that have negatively influenced the economic future of young Minnesotans. Both the young and young-at-heart should join us to hear about the changes needed to turn False Promises into a more hopeful future.
In addition to the poll, American Experiment held two focus groups with young people and video clips of those interactions will be featured in the one-hour presentation.
