Walz education appointee calls for overthrow of US government

Democrats try to pass Tim Walz off as a small-town moderate, “America’s coach.” The reality is entirely different, as Minnesotans know: he is a hard-core left-winger.

Walz is in the midst of a radical overhaul of K-12 education in Minnesota. The curriculum of every class in every grade in every school is now required to include instruction in “Ethnic Studies.” Voters might naively think that Ethnic Studies means learning that Dutch children wear wooden shoes, and Norway has lots of fjords, although how this relates to Algebra is anyone’s guess. But the reality is entirely different, as American Experiment’s Katherine Kersten and Catrin Wigfall have repeatedly warned.

In fact, Ethnic Studies means anti-American, anti-free enterprise, anti-Semitic, racist propaganda. But don’t take my word for it. Let’s hear from the man whom Tim Walz appointed to the committee that is writing the official “implementation framework” that will dictate Ethnic Studies curriculum for all Minnesota public schools: Brian Lozenski.

Lozenski, a Minnesota professor, is the national leader on Ethnic Studies, and he is the de facto leader of Minnesota’s Ethnic Studies Working Group. Walz knew what he was getting when he put Lozenski in charge of overhauling Minnesota’s K-12 education. His track record is as far left as you can get. Stanley Kurtz has a superb, long article on Lozenski and Minnesota’s Ethnic Studies initiative — which American Experiment has battled against, tooth and nail — in National Review. You should read the whole thing, it is a great piece of work. But for now I want to focus on the May 27, 2022, video that Lozenski posted on YouTube and which Kurtz unearthed. In this video, Lozenski explains what critical race theory means and calls for the overthrow of the government of the United States:

The first tenet of critical race theory is that the United States as constructed is irreversibly racist. So if the nation-state as constructed is irreversibly racist, then it must be done with, it must be overthrown, right. And so we can’t be like, “Oh no, critical race theory is just about telling our stories and divers[ity].” It’s not about that. It’s about overthrow. It’s insurgent. And we, we need to be, I think, more honest with that. … You can’t be a critical race theorist and be pro-U.S. Okay, it is an anti-state theory that says, The United States needs to be deconstructed, period.

This is what Minnesota kids will be taught in school if Tim Walz’s administration isn’t stopped. And this is what kids may be taught in schools across the United States if Tim Walz becomes vice president. We are dealing here with a degree of radicalism that is unprecedented in our political history: a total rejection of free enterprise, of democracy, of any concept of racial equality, and finally, a call for the overthrow of our government and the destruction of our country. This is what Tim Walz chose for Minnesota’s public schools.

UPDATE: The Democrats, realizing the danger that Tim Walz’s radicalism poses for the Kamala Harris campaign, have taken down from YouTube the Lozenski video that is quoted from above. But Stanley Kurtz has a copy.
